{"id":22130,"date":"2022-11-21T17:49:32","date_gmt":"2022-11-21T17:49:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/darkskyalqueva.com\/dark-sky-alqueva-just-won-the-worlds-responsible-tourism-award-at-the-2022-world-travel-awards\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T14:36:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T14:36:00","slug":"dark-sky-alqueva-just-won-the-worlds-responsible-tourism-award-at-the-2022-world-travel-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/darkskyalqueva.com\/en\/dark-sky-alqueva-just-won-the-worlds-responsible-tourism-award-at-the-2022-world-travel-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Dark Sky\u00ae Alqueva just won the World&#8217;s Responsible Tourism Award at the 2022 World Travel Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-22122 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/darkskyalqueva.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/DSA_WTA_11_11_2022.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"419\" \/>After having won a World Travel Awards in October of this year at the European gala in Mallorca, Dark Sky\u00ae Alqueva has just won yesterday, November 11th in Muscat, the World&#8217;s Responsible Tourism Award 2022, recognition given especially for its innovative character in creation of this astrotourism destination and for its integrated sustainable development model, a fundamental part of the mission of the Dark Sky Association.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a great honor to be able to count on this distinction in the acclaimed World Travel Awards, considered the Oscars of Tourism; and a great responsibility that gives us even more strength to continue to invest in a project that was born in 2007 also with the mission of protecting the night sky, a mission that is increasingly important these days because associated with it is the decrease to almost zero levels of light pollution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Remember that since 2019, the Dark Sky\u00ae Alqueva has been part of the destinations awarded by the World Travel Awards, with the attribution of the Europe&#8217;s Responsible Tourism Award 2019. In 2020 it won three more awards, the Europe&#8217;s Responsible Tourism Award 2020, Europe&#39;s Leading Tourism Project 2020 and the World&#39;s Leading Tourism Project 2020.
