In the centre of the historic village of Evoramonte, among quiet streets, whitewashed houses and the imposing castle that dominates the Alentejo landscape, lies Casa do Castello, a local accommodation designed for those seeking tranquillity, authenticity and the serene rhythm of life in the Alentejo.
This welcoming retreat combines the elegant simplicity of traditional architecture with a contemporary atmosphere of comfort and wellbeing. The interiors reveal a carefully curated aesthetic, where natural materials, soft tones and elements of local heritage create a sense of calm. Wooden ceilings, warm light and handcrafted details give the space an intimate character that invites relaxation.
The house features two comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and thoughtfully designed spaces for a relaxing stay, ideal for couples, small families or travellers wishing to explore the Alentejo from an authentic and peaceful setting.
Outside, the private courtyard and swimming pool provide the perfect setting to enjoy the Alentejo climate. During the day, the golden light of the plains surrounds the village; at night, the deep silence invites contemplation of the star-filled sky that characterises the Dark Sky® Alqueva territory, turning every stay into an experience of rest and connection with nature.
Casa do Castello is managed by the Lopes family, who are also responsible for Celeiro Comum, a well-known artisan shop located in Evoramonte.
This connection gives the accommodation a distinctive cultural dimension. The family, deeply rooted in local identity, has dedicated decades to promoting the traditional crafts of the Alentejo, particularly through the art of the Estremoz Clay Figures, an intangible cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO.
By staying at Casa do Castello, visitors are invited to discover not only a place to rest, but also a living story of tradition, creativity and Alentejo hospitality. Just a few steps from the house, Celeiro Comum allows guests to experience the family’s craftsmanship up close and explore a universe of pieces that reflect the cultural soul of the region.
