Located in the heart of the Noudar Nature Park, within the historic Herdade da Coitadinha, Casa do Monte was created from the restoration of the former residence of the estate’s owner. Today it has been transformed into an accommodation space that preserves the rural character and architectural identity of this singular landscape of Lower Alentejo.

Surrounded by extensive holm oak montado landscapes, streams and valleys where nature remains largely untouched, the house offers an experience deeply connected to the territory. The park, now a conservation area managed by EDIA, is recognised for its rich biodiversity, the beauty of its montado landscapes and the presence of emblematic Iberian wildlife species. It has become a privileged destination for those seeking tranquillity, contact with nature and wildlife observation.

Casa do Monte has a capacity for 12 guests, distributed across four double bedrooms and two twin rooms, one of which is adapted to accommodate guests with reduced mobility. All rooms feature private bathrooms and air conditioning, ensuring comfort within an atmosphere that combines simplicity, authenticity and traditional Alentejo hospitality.

Mornings begin with a breakfast prepared with regional products, served in the estate’s restaurant. At the table guests will find traditional flavours such as Alentejo bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade or regional cakes, seasonal fruit, herbal infusions made from aromatic plants grown in the estate’s gardens, cereals and dairy products.

Inside the house, several architectural elements of the former property have been preserved. The large vaulted-ceiling hall, with views over Noudar Castle and equipped with a fireplace for colder nights, stands out as one of the most noble and welcoming spaces in the house.

Outside, the spacious veranda of Casa do Monte invites guests to enjoy moments of contemplation over the surrounding landscape. At the end of the day, the sunset behind the castle and over the montado creates a unique setting typical of the vast Alentejo horizon.

Located within the Dark Sky® Alqueva territory, Noudar Park benefits from exceptional night sky quality. The limited presence of artificial lighting and the vast natural landscape provide ideal conditions for observing the starry sky. As night falls, the Milky Way appears with remarkable clarity above the castle and the montado, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience one of the most preserved night skies in Europe.

Between heritage, nature and silence, Casa do Monte allows guests to discover the deeper essence of Alentejo, exploring the landscapes and trails of Noudar Park during the day and, at night, contemplating the immensity of the Dark Sky® Alqueva skies.
